Steelcase
A new workplace furniture concept for Steelcase's range of folding office desks aimed at the contemporary needs of younger users. Our solution enabled Steelcase to cut manufacturing costs by half when compared to the brand's current models.
Steelcase challenges Mormedi to design a flexible table, adapted to collaborative spaces, with a more "lifestyle" look, focused on a younger audience and priced below existing ones in its catalog.
After an exhaustive study of the competition and existing Steelcase models, we presented a series ofbest practices, technical solutions, and improvement opportunities for the new tables. After confirming thedesired style with Steelcase, we began designing these new products, emphasizing simplicity and reducing technical complexity and costs. Thus we created two families of tables withrefreshing design, good modularity, and simple manufacturing.
